Phototherapy

Phototherapy is the dermatologist-directed use of ultraviolet light to medically treat skin disease. Narrow-band ultraviolet B light treatments are very effective in the treatment of skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, itching and some lymphomas of the skin. Not all dermatologists provide these treatments. Specialized PUVA treatments, another type of phototherapy, are performed for skin disease on the hands and feet.
